How to Register for the VPK Program
April 6th starts registration for the new School Year 2010 - 2011: 2010 Summer VPK session is currently open for enrollment:
Eligible Children have birthdates from Sept. 2, 2005 to Sept. 1, 2006
Eligible Children have birthdates from Sept. 2, 2004 to Sept. 1, 2005
Obtain a Certificate Of Eligibility (COE) from the the Coalition office. (see documents needed, below)
- Ask the pre-school to add your child to their list. (some schools require the COE before approving enrollment)
- Register your child with the Early Learning Coalition: Two Ways to Register (listed below)
- Once your child's eligibility is verified, you will be given a Certificate Of Eligibility
- Bring in a Certificate Of Eligibility to the pre-school of your choice to finalize your child's enrollment

Note: SCHOOL YEAR (not Summer) Public School VPK programs may have some restrictions. VPK programs in Public Schools are in various Title I School attendance areas. Please call the school directly or Find Your Neighborhood School From Your Address to see if your child is eligible to attend at that site.
Two Ways to Register Your Child for a VPK class
- Come into the Coalition office M-F, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, 3407 North "L" Street Pensacola, FL 32505, We Are Currently Accepting Applications for Summer 2010 and School Year 2009-2010.
- Ask your selected pre-school about their On-site Registration Day – For schools with 8 or more children to enroll, we will plan to be at the school on a specified day to assist parents/guardians with enrollment of their child for VPK.
Copies of these documents are needed:
- Proof of Birth Date - EXAMPLES **
(a) Child’s birth record, or
(b) Shot Record signed by a doctor or nurse, - Proof of Florida Residency - EXAMPLES **
(a) Utility bills, or
(b) Bank statements - Proof of Guardianship (if applicable) - EXAMPLES **
(a) Court Order, or
(b) Signed & dated statement from parent authorizing an individual to enroll the child in school.
** other documents may suffice, the parent/guardian should contact our office for approval of documents not listed above. - A copy of the parent/guardian ID will also be added to the child's file
