MISSION STATEMENT

The Early Learning Coalition, Training Unit - an advocate for adult learners, is dedicated to the advancement of experiential learning in order to meet the continuing education needs of the voluntary pre-kindergarten, child care industry, and the community, by providing

and to developing and/or improving continuing education and training programs for voluntary pre-kindergarten and child care personnel in order to provide the basis for professional standards and certifications.

Continuing Education Units

One Continuing Education Unit (CEU) is defined as ten contact hours of participation in an organized continuing
education experience under responsible sponsorship, capable direction, and qualified instruction.

The primary purpose of the CEU is to provide a permanent record of the educational accomplishments of an individual
who has completed one or more significant non-credit educational experiences.  Awarding the CEU approved by
IACET also provides a quality indicator for your continuing education and training programs because it means you have been
reviewed and approved for complying with the internationally recognized standard.

The IACET Standard

IACET is known as the premier standard-setting organization for continuing education and training providers.  From the original 10 Criteria developed by the task force, the standards have evolved into criteria with guidelines that have become the basis of our Authorized Provider program.
